Marbella / Buerto Banus Supercars and what's next!

What's up! Visited a while ago Spain. A week in Puerto Banus and Marbella was a blast, even though car wise it wasn't the craziest season quite yet, plus it was raining a lot.
I still managed to film some awesome cars, but because all the water pouring down on certain days, I decided to check out some of the hottest supercar dealerships in the area, and there sure is a lot of them.
Besides all the epic supercars, American muscle cars were pretty well represented in these showrooms as well (Shelby Cobra 427, Eleanor Mustang Convertible, Vipers etc.) Check out the video below to see more about them.

The best place for carspotting in that part of Spain is probably the yacht harbour in Puerto Banus, that's where I did most of my filming. But like always I'll let the pics and videos do most of the talking, so enjoy these following clips.

Now I'm off, as I'm heading tomorrow to Cannes and Monaco for the next two and a half weeks to do a little (A LOT!!) of supercar spotting and more, so stay tuned for all new videos on my Youtube Channel. Oh and I'll be back just in time to catch all the epic muscle cars in the next Helsinki Cruising Night event in early June, see ya soon!

Carspotting Through a Lens...

Hey ya'll, how's it going? Haven't posted any car stuff in a while on this blog (whole different story with the carvideos, check 'em out HERE) so I had an idea, that since I'm not on Instagram (yeah that's right) but I often snap a photo or two of the SUPERCARS and/or MUSCLE CARS that I spot, with these pics I'd show (some) of the coolest cars of recent months that I've come across...

Sound any good? Well anyways, here goes...

Oakley Design Lamborghini Aventador LP760-2. This beauty was sitting on ADV.1 wheels, in Monaco.

Camera I use for photos is the brilliant Sony NEX-5N with a few E-Mount lenses, I mostly shoot with a SEL35F18 and SEL1855 (sometimes I have to snap a photo in a hurry, I use my videocam, the Sony PJ780, like with this Charger pic below)

The world's fastest C2 Corvette: SIX-5

Last weekend at the 'Unlimited Racing' event in Lappeenranta Finland, I had the amazing opportunity to film the world's fastest C2 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray (1965) up close, and not only that, I got to experience the power and speed of this amazing muscle car classic as a passenger on a high speed run on track!

This stunning car has clocked 200+ mph ( 322 km/h ) on a standing mile run (7.6.2014 Lappeenranta, Finland) making it the worlds fastest street legal C2 Corvette. Pretty epic speed for an almost 50 year old automobile!
The custom built Small Block 400cid 6.5L V8 engine produces 1000+ HP with the NOS kit (Nitrous Oxide System).

Here's a small teaser clip of the upcoming videos that will include a high speed onboard ride on track, engine startups and brutal V8 and exhaust sound, huge revs, overview of the car and its engine bay, GoPro track footage and much much more.

American Car Show and more...

Thought I'd remind all you Muscle Car fans, it's time to check out the annual American Car Show (18-21st April) in Helsinki next Friday, and if you're anywhere near that place, you'll definitely wanna head to Vantaa in the Friday evening too, there's the Vanda Cruising with all the loud V8's and smoky burnouts happening also...

Nissan Skyline GT-R combo!

Spotted this awesome Nissan Skyline GT-R combo a while back in Helsinki, Finland.

The blue R34 Skyline is tuned and modified by the well-known Japanese tuning company called Bee R, which builds and modifies cars for drifting tournaments. This car packs at least 600 HP, probably even more, and that custom Body kit looks awesome!

The other, white R33 Skyline, is the V Spec (Victory Specification) model, which means more upgraded, track focused model in the GTR range.

CORRECTION!!! That blue "R34" Skyline is actually a R32 Skyline with an R34 front end, and not sure if it really is tuned by BEE-R, sorry about that...

Helsinki - A Car Mecca?

I wanted to talk a little about Helsinki, the capital of Finland, and its car scene.

You don't hear too often Helsinki mentioned in conversations involving the coolest and rarest cars. But the thing is, when you think about it, carwise Helsinki has pretty much everything. You just have to be in the right place at the right time. Bare with me, and let me explain.

Summertime is the keyword here. You see, on a regular sunny day (in June, July, August), seeing a Ferrari or a Lamborghini parked in front of the Hotel Kämp is not a rare thing, even the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse (!!) was spotted driving down the Esplanade in Helsinki last summer.

The car dealerships in Herttoniemi have pretty sweet collection of exotics on display and so on. All in all, the supercar-scene is in pretty nice shape, but only when it's summertime.

But when we start talking about those loud, American Muscle Cars with rumbling V8's, old and new, a whole new perspective is born!

Same thing applies here too though; the right place and the right time, but in a whole new level. And that place is the Helsinki Market Square, and the time is every first Friday of the month (excluding wintertime).

That is the place and the time that you will see every imaginable Muscle Car classic (Bullitt Mustang, Challengers, Chargers, Cobras, etc. etc.) or the latest V8-monsters (Shelby GT500, Challenger SRT-8 etc.), Hot Rods, even a few Supercars and European classics (70's/80s Ferraris, Porsches etc.) show up every now and then... And all this is called the 'Helsinki Cruising Night' (aka 'Stadin Cruising'), an event, or actually a car meet that's been going on decades now, and has been growing bigger and bigger every year.

Even though Finland is such a small country, it's filled with all kinds of classic American cars. I mean, every single time there's dozens of cars in this event you haven't seen there before.

Here you get to hear live all these V8-engines rumbling at the same time, and literally smell the gasoline in the air, it's such a great atmosphere for a car enthusiast, and this "show" doesn't cost a dime, but you have to be there in person to know what I'm on about.

Anyways, maybe the best way to describe this fantastic event is to show you these few videos from last year, filmed in the heart of Helsinki...

...so in other words, perhaps Helsinki is not the "Supercar heaven", say like Monaco or Dubai, but when talking about those loud V8 Muscle Cars, at least here in Europe, Helsinki may just be a Car Mecca after all, but I say this once more, only when it's summertime.

All these cars were filmed during summer 2013 in monthly car meets held in Kotka, Finland.
