Jamboolio's Plans for 2015

How's it going you car nutters!

I thought I'd talk a little bit about some of the plans I've made for this year, concerning filming some awesome Muscle Cars, Supercars and Hypercars.

So if I get straight to business, there will be the usual 'Helsinki Cruising Night' monthly events with many many many amazing American muscle cars and classics. Also many other cruising events and meets throughout the year are marked in the calender, so that means once again filming some of the loudest and cleanest V8 monsters, old and new, plus burnouts and such.

Last years first bigger trip was to the great Geneva Motor Show, but I'll skip that one this year. Still gonna have my eyes on supercars though, as I'll head instead early in the spring to Marbella, Spain, Puerto Banús to be precise.

And the main theme of that trip, along with filming some amazing supercars and hypercars, which there are a lot as I understand, is to go out and spot that one and only Lamborghini Aventador J (oh and there really is only one of them in existence!!), which belongs to this ultra rich Lamborghini collector who lives, yes you guessed it, in Marbella!

Okay so after that it's great to check out again some muscle car events, which there really are a lot here in Finland, but also one of my favorite events of the summer is a standing mile run track event with both supercars and muscle cars, which is held twice a year.

One of the biggest trips in 2015 will be the one to Cannes and Monaco in May. Two and a half weeks time there will include Cannes Film Festival, Monaco F1 Grand Prix weekend, huge stars and celebrities, and naturally epic supercars and hypercars to spot.

The only downside is that I'm gonna have to skip the start of the Gumball 3000 rally, which will take place in Stockholm, Sweden the same time I'm at the French Rivera, but I'm pretty sure it'll be worth it (just check out the videos from last year below), even though I think the Gumball rally is awesome.

Lastly I wanna talk about my plan (and this is at the moment just a plan, nothing's sure yet) how it would be great to end the year 2015.

A friend of Jamboolio's who happens to own the SIX-5 Corvette (the fastest C2 Corvette in the world, which has been mentioned in this blog before) is taking that very same 200mph Corvette to the USA in the fall for the famous Texas Mile Run (and other events too).

The idea is that I would be filming some of the SIX-5 Vette's adventures in the US, but also other amazing cars and things at the Texas Mile, the SEMA Show, check out the carscene in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and a lot more!

But as I said nothing is certain about this US trip yet, but we'll see...

All these events and trips mentioned here are just a fraction of places where I will be filming all new carvideos this year, so hope you'll stay tuned, as there will be tons of new footage coming to my Youtube Channel, photos to this blog and Facebook, and so much more. So in another words I think the year 2015 is going to be a pretty good one!

Carspotting Through a Lens...

Hey ya'll, how's it going? Haven't posted any car stuff in a while on this blog (whole different story with the carvideos, check 'em out HERE) so I had an idea, that since I'm not on Instagram (yeah that's right) but I often snap a photo or two of the SUPERCARS and/or MUSCLE CARS that I spot, with these pics I'd show (some) of the coolest cars of recent months that I've come across...

Camera I use for photos is the brilliant Sony NEX-5N with a few E-Mount lenses, I mostly shoot with a SEL35F18 and SEL1855 (sometimes I have to snap a photo in a hurry, I use my videocam, the Sony PJ780, like with this Charger pic below)

Four LaFerrari's in one week!

Just spent two weeks in the French Riviera, Monaco and Cannes to be precise, spotting supercars, hypercars, even muscle cars, and getting a lot of awesome footage filmed for my Youtube Channel.
One of the most craziest car related things on this trip was that within one weeks time I had spotted (and filmed) FOUR (4!!) different Ferrari LaFerrari hybrid hypercars.
That's a pretty good number since only 499 units will be ever built with an over €1 million price tag!
All cars I saw were Rosso Corsa red, all were registered to different countries, and all were just mighty awesome!

As you propably know, LaFerrari is the most powerful Ferrari roadcar ever with its 6.3-litre V12 engine + electric drive producing 963 HP and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque. Top speed is over 350 km/h (217 mph), and 100 km/h (62 mph) is reached in under three seconds.

All LaFerrari's I encountered were Rosso Corsa red, two had silver OEM rims, two with all black OEM rims. The cars were registered to Monaco, France, Luxembourg and Andorra.

Within two weeks time in the Riviera and after seeing four LaFerraris, Enzo, Koenigsegg Agera R, Pagani Huayra and Zonda, and tons of other supercars, didn't see not even one McLaren P1 nor Porsche 918, whatever that means... ;)

BMW - Geneva 2014

Before getting to all the Supercars and Hypercars of the Geneva Motor Show 2014, I wanna talk a little about BMW, since they had one of the largest and most striking stands at the show.

BMW officially unveiled a few 2015 models, like the 4-Series Gran Coupe (435i) and the M235i, also the new M3 F80 and M4 F82 models were seen out in public in Europe for the first time.

Naturally the plug-in hybrid models, the i8 and i3 were there, and I have to say that seeing the i8 for the first time live with my own eyes was a very positive thing, you can count me as a fan from now on, it looks absolutely fantastic!

Think I'll let the photos do the rest of the talking, but a few little things first;

a couple of days after visiting the Motor Show, out of the blue I spotted an 4-Series Gran Coupe (car they just had unveiled at the show!) at one of the hotels in centre Geneva. It was a 428i with the M Sport package and in Estoril Blue color.

Think it's BMW's own test- or press car, but quite a nice surprise to spot one of the first 4er Gran Coupes on the road! You can check a small video of that car here:

The BMW Store at the Motor Show was also a nice surprise (got something little for myself there, since I am a huge BMW fan, and also own and drive a E90 330i). Anyways, enjoy the pics and the video below...

Helsinki - A Car Mecca?

I wanted to talk a little about Helsinki, the capital of Finland, and its car scene.

You don't hear too often Helsinki mentioned in conversations involving the coolest and rarest cars. But the thing is, when you think about it, carwise Helsinki has pretty much everything. You just have to be in the right place at the right time. Bare with me, and let me explain.

Summertime is the keyword here. You see, on a regular sunny day (in June, July, August), seeing a Ferrari or a Lamborghini parked in front of the Hotel Kämp is not a rare thing, even the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse (!!) was spotted driving down the Esplanade in Helsinki last summer.

The car dealerships in Herttoniemi have pretty sweet collection of exotics on display and so on. All in all, the supercar-scene is in pretty nice shape, but only when it's summertime.

But when we start talking about those loud, American Muscle Cars with rumbling V8's, old and new, a whole new perspective is born!

Same thing applies here too though; the right place and the right time, but in a whole new level. And that place is the Helsinki Market Square, and the time is every first Friday of the month (excluding wintertime).

That is the place and the time that you will see every imaginable Muscle Car classic (Bullitt Mustang, Challengers, Chargers, Cobras, etc. etc.) or the latest V8-monsters (Shelby GT500, Challenger SRT-8 etc.), Hot Rods, even a few Supercars and European classics (70's/80s Ferraris, Porsches etc.) show up every now and then... And all this is called the 'Helsinki Cruising Night' (aka 'Stadin Cruising'), an event, or actually a car meet that's been going on decades now, and has been growing bigger and bigger every year.

Even though Finland is such a small country, it's filled with all kinds of classic American cars. I mean, every single time there's dozens of cars in this event you haven't seen there before.

Here you get to hear live all these V8-engines rumbling at the same time, and literally smell the gasoline in the air, it's such a great atmosphere for a car enthusiast, and this "show" doesn't cost a dime, but you have to be there in person to know what I'm on about.

Anyways, maybe the best way to describe this fantastic event is to show you these few videos from last year, filmed in the heart of Helsinki...

...so in other words, perhaps Helsinki is not the "Supercar heaven", say like Monaco or Dubai, but when talking about those loud V8 Muscle Cars, at least here in Europe, Helsinki may just be a Car Mecca after all, but I say this once more, only when it's summertime.

American V8 Muscle Cars - Sights and Sounds!

Here's my new video I just uploaded featuring classic American Muscle Cars with huge V8 engines and loud exhausts making some epic sounds!
All these cars were filmed during summer 2013 in monthly car meets held in Kotka, Finland.

I thought I'd show you guys the video, but also some photo shots I took at these events, pretty cool cars if you ask me, enjoy!
